Position: ARISE® Intern
I am a person in long-term recovery from Substance Use Disorder. Addiction is a family disease that requires a commitment to change for overall health and wellbeing. I believe the same can be said for all mental health disorders. Being a person in long-term recovery I understand that recovery is a process and the help of others is needed. It is my job to support, encourage, and empower individuals on their journeys with love, respect, and understanding.
I have worked in the Recovery field for several years helping others in the community find and experience the joys of recovery. I have my associate degree through Landmark college, am a Certified Peer Support Specialist, and have completed the ARISE® Comprehensive Care with Invitational Intervention® Workshop. I worked with a nationwide healthcare provider giving ongoing and continuous recovery services via on demand telehealth. I've also worked at the local level at a recovery resource center, providing individualized peer support, leading meetings, and facilitating events that promoted healthy socialization and networking. I now use my collective life experience, accreditation, and education as an independent contractor, focusing on a handful of clients and families at a time giving guidance, support, and resources using the globally acclaimed ARISE® model.
I enjoy hiking and foreign crime dramas, and live a full and sober life with my partner in Greenville, South Carolina and our four dogs.
